“ Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food  ”  Hippocrates

Nutrition therapy is rooted in naturopathic medicine which combines knowledge of up-to-date medical science with the wisdom of natural therapy.

The principles of naturopathy were first used by the Hippocratic School of Medicine (400 BC). The Greek philosopher Hippocrates believed in viewing the whole person to find the cause of disease and use the laws of nature to induce cure.

Naturopathic medicine is based on the principle that the body has an innate capacity to heal itself if it is given the right conditions. Obstacles to recovery must be identified and eliminated to promote this inherent self-healing process. Nutrition can positively impact health by helping to prevent, reduce and even reverse symptoms, whilst reducing the likelihood of developing future chronic illnesses.

In naturopathic nutrition, each person is considered unique. Its physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social and other factors are reviewed holistically to help uncover the underlying causes of disease rather than to merely suppress symptoms.

As a naturopathic nutrition therapist, my approach is to thoroughly examine the complex range of factors including genetic background, clinical history, body systems, diet and lifestyle that have contributed to the client’s current health concerns. The most advanced functional testing can be used to identify potential genetic and biochemical contributors and gain a deeper insight into an individual’s unique biological strengths and weaknesses and their impact on emotional and physical health and wellbeing.

I then provide my clients with the most appropriate tailor made nutrition and lifestyle intervention supported by evidence-based research which I believe can be transformative to overall health and wellbeing, helping to make positive changes, optimise body functions, restore abundant energy and safeguard future health.

My goal is to encourage our clients to learn how to take action and optimise their own health.
